About Us

Artifacts in digital pathology slides present a significant challenge for pathologists and especially computational algorithms. This repository was created to facilitate the sharing of the various appearance of artifacts for two major purposes:

(a) to use as a didactic tool for new pathologists, in hopes of exposing them to artifacts which may be rare in clinical practices, and

(b) providing benchmark datasets for computational approaches both in detecting artifacts as well as determining the robustness of algorithms to the presence of artifacts.

This repository is maintained by The Center of Computational Imaging and Personalized Diagnostics (CCIPD) at Case Western Reserve University.
